A travel agent on TikTok went viral with a video of an angry client who was upset that her father wouldn’t pay what she asked for a vacation.
Olivia Ferney, who works in marketing for Top Tier Travel and runs a TikTok account with more than 250,000 followers, shared this week her “tough call” with a daughter of a client.
The clip has captured more than 5.1 million views within its first three days online.
‘Bad’ news
In the video, Ferney called the daughter—”Jules”—who wanted her father to give her $60,000 for a trip to Monaco.
The “bad” news, however? Her father wasn’t quite willing to foot the entire bill.
“I have—in front of the casino, I have a room, casino view,” Ferney said.
“But your dad has capped you at $25,000. So we’re not going to be able to do the two bedroom suite.”

‘Does he think this is a joke?’
The daughter was livid.
“That’s not even half of what we agreed on,” she said.
“We agreed on $60,000. Like, what happened to these options? Does he think this is a joke?”
Ferney pointed out that the father thought he was being generous with the offer.
“Generous? Generous?” the daughter replied, adding, “OK, you know what’s generous? I can have you replaced, Liv, in two seconds. Like that. Like tomorrow you will be replaced.”
After taking a beat, Ferney replied: “Jules, respectfully, I work with your dad and not with you. I’m always happy to help you out. I’m always on your team, but we need to work together so you can at least go on this trip.”
The agent explained that the daughter could still go, but she wouldn’t be able to get the big suite she wanted.
“You just maybe can’t bring as many friends,” Ferney said.
“They’re going to have to ask their dads for some money to take care of it. You can’t always be hosting everyone.”
The daughter seemed to calm down.
“You’ve had some great trips this year and I’m still going to make it happen within that budget,” Ferney explained.
TikTok viewers praised Ferney for her calm demeanor during the interaction.
“Hats off to you,” one wrote, “I respect how well you handled this situation and others on your page.”
‘We still made some magic happen’
In an email to Newsweek, Ferney said she was able to make Monaco work for her client within the budget.
“My team and I are very resourceful and we always make sure the client gets the best option for the budget,” Ferney said.
“For that particular booking, our budget went from $60,000 to $25,000, which limited us on the type of suite we could secure. That being said, we still made some magic happen to get her into a suite with the same view that she requested and she was able to enjoy her time in Monaco.”
‘Client confidentiality’
Ferney said she would never post a conversation with a client that wasn’t approved ahead of time.
“Almost all of the conversations I have are with clients who I have [nondisclosure agreements] with,” she said.
“It’s great that I have clients that like to participate in these calls, and have clients who are OK with me sharing their stories, but a lot of the conversations I have need to be kept private, as client confidentiality is a massive part of the business.”
She added that her company can handle any “major events,” including the Super Bowl, Wimbledon and more.
“Any experience you want to live, we can make it happen,” Ferney said.
